A little about us.

Bamsey Accounting & Tax Service began its humble beginnings in 2001 in earnest.  Our founder, John Bamsey, had been preparing taxes for 20 years and had been in the accounting field for nearly as long. 

John Bamsey grew up in Alexandria, VA, and attended Mount Vernon High School.  He completed his education while working full-time; he held positions in numerous companies from accounting clerk to Controller.  His experience includes working in law firms, not-for-profits, advertising and investment advisor companies.  His education includes a B.S. in Business Administration and a MBA. 

He is an Adjunct Instructor for Accounting & Business at Northern Virginia Community College – Woodbridge Campus, where he has taught Business Management, Principles of Accounting & Federal Taxation.  John is also an Enrolled Agent authorized by the Internal Revenue Service.  He also serves on the Board of Fit & Healthy Schools, which is a local Not-for-Profit 501c3 organization.
